Q. What is the minimum length of stay
A. Minimum stay 3 nights
Q. What time is check-in and check-out?
A. Our check in time is 4 PM and check out is 11 AM.
Q. Early arrival or later departure availability is based on occupancy.
A. We will do our best to accommodate you but be aware in the summer it is rare due to high occupancy. If we can arrange a late check-out or early check in we will notify you.
Q. What is the deposit? and when do I pay the rest?
A. Deposit of 30% of your stay is due at time of reservation. The balance is due 7 days prior to the day of arrival. Please feel free to contact us if you require different arrangements, we will be more than happy to discuss this with you.
Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. 100% refund 60 days before check-in 50% refund 30 days before check-in
Q. Is there a damage deposit? or cleaning fee?
A. Yes, due a time to check in $500.00 to offset any incidental charges that may occur and also against damage and/or undue cleaning costs 150.00. These funds are released 48 hr after checkout verification.
Q. Will linens/towels be provided?
A. We provide bed linens, pillows and duvets .We do not provide towels.

A. Bedrooms come with dressers and some bedrooms also have clothing racks with hangers supplied
Q. How private is the property?
A. While there are neighboring cottages, Four Leaf Clover Cottages are privately situated on Howe Island. Property has 2 cottages and RV trailer It is on a treed lot and comes with a private yard, dock and dock extension. Common area beach, dock, shared between tenants and owners.
Q. Will we need to bring dishes and cutlery? Pots and pans?
A. No, we provide everything you need in the kitchen except consumables and kitchen linnens. We do not provide towel paper.
Q. Is the tap water safe to drink?
A. No, it is not safe to drink and you will be provided with 15 liter drinking water, please bring more water if you need.
Q. What household appliances and entertainment are there at the cottage?
A. We offer a fridge, stove, propane BBQ, fire pit and supply firewood, books, board games, outdoor games kayaks, pedal boat (4 adult and 2 kids PFD provided)
Q. Do you have air conditioning?
A. Our cottages do not have central air conditioning.
Q. Can we smoke in the cottage?
A. Absolutely NO smoking is allowed inside the cottage. You are welcome to do so outdoors. Please remember of safely related to smoking and fires.
Q. Is the lake water nice to swim in? Is there a shallow area for young children?
A. Yes, swimming and other water activities offer hours of refreshing leisure during your stay. Please remember our cottages offer off grid experience of natural habitat. We do suggest that you never leave minors unattended. You may consider bringing along aqua shoes (particularly for young children) as you may run into water lily season. These plants play an essential role in the ecosystem for big mouth bass breeding, and in turn, fishing for guests.
Q. Is there good fishing?
A. Yes.
Q. Should we bring our own life jackets?
A. Yes. We provide a limited selection of life jackets, however for your safety and comfort, we suggest you bring your own to ensure proper fit and sizing. We provide 4 adult and 2 kids life jackets.
Q. How close is the nearest hospital? Grocery store? Other shopping?
A. Town of Kingston is a 20 minute drive away and has a hospital with emergency care , grocery stores and a large selection of restaurants, LCBO outlet and other specialty shops as well as great shopping and attractions to enjoy. Town of Gananoque 15 minute drive offers dinning, shopping, grocery shopping, spa facilities and attractions to enjoy.
Q. Is there a boat launch and can I dock at the cottage?
A. Yes, there is a boat launch. You can follow the entrance of the driveway and go directly to the river. This is the regular spot our guests launch their boats and then dock by our lakefront during their stay.
Q. Do I have to clean the cottage?
A. Yes, it is the responsibility of our guests to clean the cottage at the end of their stay. Cleaning supplies and equipment are readily available. The cottage will be inspected prior to your arrival and again after your departure. Upon request, a professional cleaning service may be made available for an additional fee.
Q. Can I have visitors/guests at the cottage?
A. As long as the number of guests do not exceed our maximum occupancy, your guests are welcome to visit. We are limited to cottage occupancy as stated. Due to liability concerns, you must contact us to have each additional person added to your application. Only registered occupants are allowed on the premises. This policy applies to day-visitors as well as overnight guests. Failure to comply may result in immediate eviction without refund.
Q. Is the cottage available for a Long Weekend Rental?
A. Partial stays may be available depending on cottage availability. Please consult contact us for more information.
Q. What is there to do in the area?
A. There are many year-round activities to enjoy while vacationing at the cottage. Please check out our “Things to Do” page to assist you in tailoring your vacation to suit your own unique preferences.
Q. Are we able to get the address of the cottage to view it prior to renting?
A. For privacy, security, and insurance reasons we do not provide the cottage address prior to your final payment. Our website gives a detailed description of the cottage as well as numerous photos showcasing the inside and outside of the property.
Q. What do I do if there is a problem when I'm at the cottage?
A. Upon arrival and/or throughout your stay, if you encounter any problems, please contact us and we will try to remedy the problem as soon as possible. For your consideration and to avoid unnecessary culpability, we ask that you do not wait until your vacation is over to advise us of any issues.
Q. What do I do with my garbage?
A. It is your responsibility to dispose of, and remove from the premises, all garbage and recyclables. Should you wish us to assist you with disposal for additional fee, please contact us for more information.
Q. Will my cell phone work at the cottage?
A. Cell reception is very good at the cottage. However, we offer WiFi as we hope to provide off grid undisturbed experience; internet “detox” if you wish.
Q. How do I get the keys and directions to the cottage?
A. The information will be provided upon receipt of your final payment.
